Montessori School in Älmhult is Hiring a Teacher for After-School Care

The Montessori School is a F-6 school located in the same building as Klöxhult School in the town of Älmhult. There are approximately 70 students at the school. Teaching takes place in mixed-age classes and is inspired by the teaching methods, approaches, and interactions of Montessori pedagogy.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone with a degree and certification as a primary school teacher for after-school care or a degree in after-school pedagogy for the after-school program at the Montessori School. The work includes educational activities in after-school care as well as teaching in Physical Education and Health at the middle school level. As part of your role, you will serve as a resource in the classrooms during the day, where you will work with the class teacher to focus on creating a conducive learning environment and maintaining high goal orientation. You are curious about the working methods of Montessori pedagogy.

We work in a team that includes teachers, after-school educators, and support staff. At the Montessori School, we have our own after-school care for grades F-2. Students in grades 3-6 join students of the same age from Klöxhult School in a shared large after-school program.

The position is primarily a permanent employment but may be time-limited depending on qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree and certification as a primary school teacher for after-school care or a degree in after-school pedagogy with qualifications in Physical Education and Health.

You are expected to be a person who works with a professional approach, is open and unpretentious, and is an engaged employee who enjoys working collaboratively. As a person, you should be flexible and solution-focused in your work style. You should be skilled at building relationships and have a positive attitude towards students, guardians, and staff. You possess a good ability to plan and implement varied and stimulating after-school activities for the students.
