JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a primary school teacher at the Montessori School, you have a broad and overarching responsibility for teaching in a mixed-age class. The role also includes mentorship.

Our pedagogy is based on a common approach and characterized by a holistic perspective - everything we do is part of a context. At the school, we have a well-prepared work environment where everything has its place.

Our Montessori materials are solid and beautiful, and there is a large supply of concrete materials for the children. We work daily with the materials, and the children have free access to choose what they need for their learning. At the Montessori School, we also have our own after-school program that is integrated into the school, and the collaboration between the school and after-school is close. The student health team also plays a significant role with us and is often in focus. We also collaborate a lot with our guardians, and we have very engaged parents, with a considerable amount of parental contact included in the work.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a qualified primary school teacher with a focus on grades 4-6 or 1-6. Experience teaching at a Montessori school is an advantage. To thrive at a Montessori school, you need to share our pedagogical approach and understand that different children have different conditions and abilities, and thus learn in different ways and at different paces. This requires great patience and humility towards children's differences. We see children as independent individuals who should be allowed to make their own choices within predetermined frameworks. You should enjoy collaborating closely with your colleagues and be positively inclined to develop both yourself and others by sharing your knowledge and learning from others.

You have qualifications in Swedish, social studies, and English. Personal suitability is highly valued.
