The Education Administration is responsible for preschool, primary school, after-school care, high school, adult education, and child and student health. Here, about 1100 employees work together to create a safe and developing school and childcare.

At Ystad Gymnasium, we work purposefully to develop our operations and we offer education in most high school programs. In area 5, we have 6 vocational programs: Construction and Civil Engineering (BA); Electrical and Energy Program (EE); Vehicle and Transport Program (FT); Hotel and Tourism Program (HT); Craft Program (HV) hairdressing; and Restaurant and Food Program (RL).

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for a vocational teacher for teaching in the Hotel and Tourism Program (HT).

You will be part of a team in HT where you, together with other colleagues, create a developing study environment for each student. Close collaboration with other teachers in the team is something we see as a natural part of the teaching assignment. The teacher's assignment includes planning lessons, conducting lessons, and assessing students' acquired knowledge. As a teacher, you evaluate and develop the pedagogical work based on the school's governing documents and the student's needs and interests, both individually and together with the team. You conduct modern and creative teaching and find strategies to reach each student and strengthen them in both knowledge development and personal growth.

You are accustomed to following up on students who are doing APL and you are comfortable conducting three-party conversations when you visit students at APL and sit down with the student and supervisor.

You collaborate with other school staff for a good learning and working environment for both students and staff and actively participate in the school's development work. Mentorship is included in the assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a vocational teacher with broad industry experience from the hotel/tourism sector. A vocational teacher education and teaching certification are advantageous.

As a person, you have a great interest in both teaching and youth. You are passionate about your teaching assignment and enjoy being a teacher. Through your teaching, your students achieve good academic results. Contacts with students and guardians are a natural part of your daily work. You see the whole picture in the pedagogical assignment and you find it easy to motivate students to develop both academically and personally. You keep up with current research and dare to think outside the box. Collaboration is a natural part of your work and you welcome feedback to improve your teaching.

As a person, you are development-oriented and have good communication skills as well as an ability to see the big picture. You thrive in an environment that places high demands on responsibility, flexibility, decisiveness, and social competence. You are a creative colleague who can offer students a good learning environment and you have a positive attitude.
