Assistant in Control Engineering

Workplace Description
Control Engineering is one of the departments at Lund University’s Faculty of Engineering (LTH).
Our research focuses on sustainable and safe operation of technical systems for the benefit of people and the planet. The department conducts both basic and applied research in the fields of robotics, energy supply, transportation, healthcare, communication, and economics. The department offers both basic and advanced courses for students in several different engineering programs in the areas of control engineering and learning. There is also extensive doctoral education with 25-30 active PhD students in the department.
Job Responsibilities
As an assistant, your tasks may vary, and they should provide insight into the academic world at the faculty where you are studying.
We are now looking for assistants for FRTF05 Control Engineering, general course (reading period 1 & 2), FRTN65 Modeling and Learning from Data (reading period 1–2), and FRTF01 Physiological Models and Calculations (reading period 2). As an assistant, you will work alongside other teachers in a group of other assistants within the department's undergraduate education.
The tasks include:
- Participate in the department's teaching (conduct exercises and labs, supervise projects, grade assignments and exam papers) at undergraduate and advanced levels.
Qualifications
Eligible to be employed as an assistant is someone who is admitted to education at the undergraduate or advanced level at the faculty (or a related subject for the common departments). The degree must not be completed.
Requirements for the position are:
- Studying a program at the Faculty of Engineering (LTH).
- Completed FRTF05 Control Engineering, general course, with a grade of 5, or completed FRTN65 Modeling and Learning from Data, with a grade of 5, or completed FRTF01 Physiological Models and Calculations, with a grade of 5, or equivalent grades in a course deemed relevant for the tasks by the employer.
- You have an excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing, and have good knowledge of English.
- Good collaboration skills.
Meritorious for the position are:
- Previous teaching experience, especially in control engineering.
- Completed or ongoing advanced courses in control engineering or related mathematical and systems engineering subjects.
We will place great emphasis on previous academic results and personal suitability. Consideration will be given to how the applicant, through their experience and competence, is assessed to complement and strengthen the teaching within the department.

Other
The employment must not negatively affect the assistant's studies and must not be combined with other employments. Regulations regarding educational employment as an assistant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12.
The employment is temporary during the period 250818–251114, 250818–260116, or 251020–260116 and concerns a scope of 5–30% of full-time.
An employment as an assistant may be up to 50% of full working time and may be limited to a maximum of one year, totaling a maximum of three years. The employment is covered by the Working Time Agreement for teachers.
Note that the tasks are not necessarily evenly distributed during the employment period and that the work may involve evening work on occasion.
We intend to hire 4–6 assistants.
