The Music School Synkopen is a school for about 250 students with an interest in music. Music creates a positive learning environment, enhances job satisfaction, and fosters a sense of community among students of different ages, making the atmosphere at the school familial and secure. Here, talents and skills develop among students from preschool to ninth grade. At Synkopen, we strive to be a school of an unexpected kind.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for an engaged and engaging mathematics teacher for our students in grades 6-9. The role includes teaching students in grades 6-9 in mathematics and shared mentorship for a class in the upper secondary school.

With us, you are expected to drive and develop your pedagogical work in a way that inspires the students. The school operates based on research regarding language-developing methods, low-affect responses, Positive Behavioral Support in Schools, and Cooperative Learning. We have made progress, and since we have much left to do, we believe it is important to ensure that we have fun together along the way.

Qualifications

You are a certified teacher authorized to teach grades 6-9 in mathematics. It is an advantage if you are also qualified in other subjects. Whether you have several years of experience or have recently graduated is not decisive; the most important thing is that you feel confident in yourself and your role. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

You are a teacher who enjoys helping all students grasp the concepts and provides them with various strategies to believe in their abilities and develop their knowledge. You have a professional demeanor towards everyone you meet and find it easy to build relationships. The needs of the students come first for you. You care about others and stand up for the school's values.

Since digital technology is a good tool for making learning accessible, it is also important that you have good digital skills. You communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written. You believe in the value of collegial learning, use assessment for learning to develop your teaching, and take responsibility for the students' knowledge development.
