Workplace Description

Hägersten-Älvsjö group and service housing consists of 28 operations according to LSS. We work on a rolling schedule with day, evening, and every other weekend shifts. We are now looking for new employees for a couple of our group homes.

Job Description

In the group and service housing, adults with disabilities live in their own apartments. As a support assistant, you will work to support, motivate, and assist the users in their daily lives as well as to interpret and clarify everyday situations. The work is characterized by a pedagogical approach, a clear and structured working method, and a low-arousal response. As a support assistant, you will provide pedagogical and practical support with both social activities and household chores as well as personal care. As a support assistant, you will participate in the quality development of the operations and attend various meetings, training sessions, and supervision.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A high school education in the care and nursing program, child and leisure program, or other education deemed equivalent.
• Several years of experience working as a support assistant and is knowledgeable about LSS.
• Knowledge and can work based on a low-arousal response and approach.
• Training for and is accustomed to using social stories, sign communication, other cognitive and physical aids in your work.
• Experience being a support person for one or more users.
• Experience working with users who have extensive care needs.

We need you to be a secure and stable person with personal maturity, who can work independently. You have the ability to plan, structure, and prioritize in daily work. You are humble, respectful, and compliant in your approach and attitude. You have good collaboration skills and are happy to share your own knowledge and experiences while being open to learning from others. The work includes care.
