Group Leader for Field Operations within the Prevention Unit

We are now looking for an experienced group leader for our field operations to create safety and structure in a dynamic environment!

The group leader position is located within the Prevention Unit at the Social Services (IFO). The unit consists of 28 dedicated employees who work with preventive measures such as fieldwork, parenting support, family counseling, school social teams, Early Support SSPF, and coordination of ANDTS issues (alcohol, narcotics, doping, tobacco, gambling), violence in close relationships, and honor-related violence and oppression. The field operations within the unit consist of 10 positions, including the group leader.

Järfälla is making significant investments to prevent violence, and the Prevention Unit and field operations play a key role. Our fieldwork consists of three main parts:

• We conduct outreach during the day and evening
• We work preventively in schools and conduct lessons on violence prevention
• We have a leading role in collaboration around children and young people

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a group leader, you have a central role in leading, distributing, and coordinating the daily work within the field operations of the Prevention Unit. You have both strategic and operational responsibilities and work closely with the team to create a well-functioning, effective, and engaged operation.

In this role, it is important that you have a deep understanding of field operations and their opportunities and challenges, while also having experience in building and leading teams. You drive development work together with employees and ensure that the operations are followed up and evaluated. An important part of the assignment is to collaborate with other actors, both internally within social services and externally with, for example, schools, police, and leisure activities.

As a group leader, you are part of the unit's management team along with the unit manager and two other group leaders. You have a delegated responsibility for the work environment, which means that you conduct regular work environment checks to identify and address any potential work environment issues early. If necessary, you involve the unit manager. You are also responsible for planning schedules, leave, and vacations.

For this role, it is crucial that you are an experienced and confident leader who has experience in leading and building teams as well as managing work with clarity and stability.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a social worker or has another relevant education that is deemed equivalent.

To succeed in this role, we would like you to have:

• Several years of experience in work leadership and work environment efforts.
• Solid experience in field operations and their opportunities and challenges.
• Experience in building and leading teams.
• Knowledge of preventive work, risk, and protective factors.

We are looking for someone who has both knowledge and experience in fieldwork and at the same time has the ability to create structure, direction, and cohesion in a workgroup. As a group leader, you are clear, attentive, and confident in your role. You believe in a present and coaching leadership style where you give employees both responsibility and support to develop. You have a good ability to communicate verbally and in writing and are used to collaborating with various actors and have insight into the missions of social services and schools.
