Respite and escort services provide support that enables you to participate in community life and maintain contact with others. This may involve engaging in leisure and cultural activities such as going to a café, enjoying nature, exercising, walking, or meeting friends. Respite services are more home-based, focusing on allowing caregivers to attend to other tasks/activities.

We are looking for a dedicated and responsible respite worker who wants to make a difference in the daily life of a family with a child with disabilities. As a respite worker within LSS, you provide family members with the opportunity for recovery and personal time while offering safe and meaningful companionship for the person you support.

The work is usually performed in the person's home and involves activating, supporting, and creating a safe environment based on the individual's needs and interests. This may include socializing, playing, walking, or assisting with daily routines.

Your primary task is to create a safe and stimulating environment for the individual. The support is tailored to the individual's needs, which may include communication support, training for independence, or activities that enhance the person's well-being.

In this role, it is important to have a pedagogical and low-arousal approach and to be able to work independently and flexibly based on each individual's unique circumstances. As an escort/respite worker, you contribute to creating a positive and developing interaction where the individual feels safe and involved. At the same time, we have a strong focus on working professionally and efficiently within the resources and budget of the organization.

For this client, we need someone who has personal maturity and some experience with outwardly aggressive individuals. There is a dog in the home, so you must be tolerant of fur and have good handling skills with dogs.

Qualifications

• Excellent command of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
• Good computer skills, experience with documentation.
• Experience working in healthcare and social services.
• High school education such as child and leisure program, healthcare and social services program, or post-secondary education such as support pedagogue, social pedagogue, or university education in a relevant field.

It is advantageous if you also have

• Experience in psychiatry, AAC, and low-arousal approaches.
• Worked with complex support needs.
• Experience with outwardly aggressive and self-harming behaviors.

Employment Conditions

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment, hourly employment Working Hours: Part-time, the client has been granted 10 hours of respite/month Working Time: Evening and weekend hours Start Date: By agreement, we look positively on if you can start shortly. Collective Agreement: We are bound by collective agreements with Vårdföretagarna/Kommunal, Branch E.
