Make a Difference. Every Day.

We welcome new nursing colleagues with an interest in emergency care to join us at the emergency department at Kristianstad Central Hospital (CSK)!

The emergency department in Kristianstad is the center for emergency care in northeastern Skåne and receives over 52,000 patient visits annually. We belong to the emergency care unit (VO) and receive between 120 and 170 patients daily with various diagnoses and varying degrees of severity. Our mission is to best meet both the patient and their relatives in the situation they find themselves in. For patients who do not require inpatient care, we have an observation unit that receives patients for observation, investigation, and treatment.

We are currently in a development phase where we focus on our working methods to optimize patient care. Our vision is to work in line-less, multi-professional teams in the future, where emergency physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries collaborate to provide patients with the best possible care. Working line-less means that patient care is based on the severity of the medical condition rather than the reason for seeking care.

With our modern organization and structure, we are equipped to meet future needs. The nursing group in the emergency department consists of both general nurses and specialist nurses with a wide range of professional experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- The best part of my job is the variety of tasks and that I never know how the workday will unfold or which people I will meet. It makes my work incredibly educational and exciting! I also have fantastic colleagues who are always there to provide support or guidance when needed. In our workgroup, we care for each other and have a lot of fun together, says Annika, a nurse in the emergency department.

As a nurse in our emergency department, your responsibilities include caring for, observing, and assessing patients with varying degrees of illness severity. Additionally, you will be involved in triage, medication administration, and managing alarms that come with ambulances. As a new employee, you will receive an individual introduction based on your previous knowledge and be assigned a mentor who will guide you during your initial time with us. We offer professional development in various stages through our education leader and training ladder. The competence plan follows you throughout your clinical career here with us.

Within the training ladder, there is an opportunity for Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). As you become more comfortable in your role, you will have the opportunity to join our so-called heart team, which is responsible for cardiopulmonary resuscitation for the entire hospital. Furthermore, we also have alarm teams that take care of all our red-priority patients and triage, where they meet and care for all patients arriving at the emergency department via our reception.

We hope that you, as an applicant, have a desire to further develop within your profession, as emergency care constantly faces new challenges and changes. Time for continuing education is provided within the framework of your employment. Here, we focus on teamwork, which we practice through scenario training on-site in the emergency department. We also offer opportunities for specialist training and various development areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are a requirement. You have a few years of work experience as a nurse, preferably in emergency care. If you have further education in emergency care, intensive care, anesthesia, ambulance care, or training as a district nurse, we consider that an advantage.

To succeed in this role, you should thrive in a fast-paced environment when required. You have an easy time adapting to changing circumstances and possess good planning and prioritization skills in your work. Furthermore, you are quality-conscious and take initiative and responsibility in your work. Since the pace can change quickly, we see that you are a person who remains calm and controlled in acute situations. For us, it is important that you enjoy working in a team while also liking to work independently in an unpredictable environment. Additionally, you are outgoing and contribute to a well-functioning collaboration and are socially active in professional contexts. We appreciate that you can empathize with others without taking over their emotions and have an understanding of different cultures and situations. Personal suitability is of great importance.

In this recruitment, we apply continuous selection. We warmly welcome your application!
