Special Education Teacher at Sätoftaskolan

Höör is located in the heart of Skåne, with good train connections, beautiful nature, 17,000 inhabitants, and a steady population increase. With around 1,400 employees, Höör Municipality is the largest employer. Many of our staff commute here.

Sätoftaskolan is a K-9 school with an associated after-school program. The school also houses the municipality's adapted primary school. It is beautifully situated near lakes and forests with an inspiring outdoor environment. It is possible to reach the school by public transport.

About 500 students attend the school. The school has a principal and two assistant principals. Staff are organized into various teams and learning groups led by the school's team leaders/lead teachers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an engaged special education teacher with a teaching license and strong special educational skills, as well as experience in primary education.

To succeed in this role, you will work goal-oriented and systematically, both independently and in teams. You can prioritize your tasks and have a good ability to structure, organize, and follow up on your work. Your responsibilities include mentoring staff and providing special educational interventions directly with students. Analyzing results, documenting, and investigating support needs are central to the role, as well as contributing to deeper reflections on teaching - both as part of the school's student health team and in collaboration with the school's educators. You will also work closely with school management on issues related to the overall needs and development of the organization, and you have the ability to shift perspectives between individual, group, and organization.

As a special education teacher, you are an important part of the school's student health team, and in collaboration with other professionals in student health, you create good and trusting relationships. You are also expected to have a close and good collaboration with other staff, students, and guardians.

The role of special education teacher at Sätoftaskolan is adapted based on the needs of the organization but is currently focused on students and staff in K-6.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher with further education as a special education teacher and previous experience in special educational work in primary education.

The position requires that you:

  • have a teaching license and experience in teaching within primary education
  • have a special education degree
  • have experience mentoring educational staff
  • have experience in documentation work such as educational investigations and action plans
  • have strong analytical skills
  • have the ability to build good and sustainable relationships with students, staff, and guardians.
  • have good knowledge of accessible teaching and special support
  • have good knowledge of and experience working with students with various vulnerabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders

Great emphasis is placed on your personal qualities and abilities.

OTHER

This is a vacation position.

The position will be filled provided that the necessary political decisions are made and that it does not need to be reserved for internal use.
