Job responsibilities

In the role of recorder teacher at Helsingborg's cultural school, you will teach individually and in groups on the recorder, as well as conduct time-limited courses in more rhythmically inspired group teaching on the recorder and other instruments. You will primarily offer longer education but also shorter courses, simpler workshops, and trial activities. The position also includes some administration and contact with guardians. You will be part of a team with 3 other educators working with younger students. At Helsingborg's cultural school, we work with vacation positions, which means that the organization offers holiday activities. Most of our activities take place in the afternoon and evening, and sometimes weekend work may occur.

Qualifications

You have a pedagogical university degree with the recorder as your main instrument or equivalent education. You have experience teaching children and youth in recorder across various genres, both individually and in groups, from beginners to advanced students. The ability to teach additional instruments is considered an asset, and previous experience teaching at a music or cultural school is viewed as important.

We are looking for someone with a creative and curious approach to recorder teaching. You listen to the students' needs and wishes and incorporate these into your genre-broad teaching. You enjoy teaching younger children in groups, allowing all children to participate according to their abilities, and developing children's skills and self-confidence. You should also have a good ability to motivate and inspire, as well as support students in their musical development in terms of both breadth and depth. As a colleague, you have good collaboration skills, take initiative, communicate and express yourself well in writing and speech, and possess good digital competence in administrative tools. We place great importance on personal suitability.
