Job Responsibilities

If you want to be part of moving in and building one of Malmö's newest schools, then this assignment is for you!

We are now looking for a teacher for grades 6-9 with qualifications in home economics for Alléskolan.

You will be part of a team of teachers who together plan and are responsible for the students' education and development, as well as deciding on any needs for subject integration or project studies in your classes. Your focus will be on creating the best conditions for each student in a safe and trusting environment. You will teach students in grades 6 and 8 in home economics at Alléskolan, where you will educate and support students in their social and academic development. You will challenge students to take their own initiatives, develop their interests, and take responsibility for themselves and others.

Your role may also involve mentoring some of our students. As a mentor, you have specific responsibility for a group of students, allowing you to follow their academic development and personal growth. As a mentor, you will inform and keep the student's guardians updated on the student's academic progress through regular development conversations.

Qualifications

You are a certified teacher with qualifications to teach grades 6-9 in home economics. Previous experience working as a teacher is considered an asset. You have a good understanding of and knowledge about the school's governing documents and can effectively use them in your daily work. Furthermore, you possess strong didactic and pedagogical skills, allowing you to lead and organize your work to create a conducive learning environment for our students throughout their school day.

Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work and, with good familiarity and experience, work effectively with relevant digital tools. Of course, you maintain a professional attitude and work towards building good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

About the Workplace

Alléskolan is a secondary school in Hyllie that started in the autumn of 2024 with three classes in grade 7 in Malmö International School's premises. The school is currently being completed and will be ready for the autumn term of 2025. Over three years, the school will gradually grow to accommodate approximately 420 students in grades 7-9. The school building also includes a resource school for 30 students.

The construction of the school is in full swing and is planned to be completed for occupancy in June 2025. The school has five floors, large bright rooms, and a large schoolyard, as well as a separate sports hall right next to it. Around the school, a green area with trees, bushes, and lawns is planned. Alléskolan aims to be a forward-looking school with the purpose of preparing our students for the future. We will strive for innovation in teaching, as well as promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. We want community and belonging to reflect the school's culture, and we will actively work to create an inclusive environment where students and staff feel welcome to be part of a larger whole.
