GIL has been coordinating personal assistance since 1989. The cooperative has roots in the Independent Living movement, which is based on the principle that individuals with disabilities know best how they want to live their lives. Typically, the person receiving assistance is the closest supervisor of the assistants, or a person with specific knowledge about the individual is appointed.

As a personal assistant, you support a person with a disability to live the life they choose. To attract and retain competent and satisfied assistants, we invest in training and events. Female personal assistant needed for summer job in Varberg.

We are looking for a girl who wants to work this summer with a 32-year-old woman in a wheelchair. The position is from week 28 to 35 and is 80-90%. We work around the clock from 8:30 AM to 8:45 AM the following day. Sleeping duty is included for 6 hours. The work is based at the woman's home. She needs help with everything in her daily life. Therefore, you need to be in good physical shape as some transfers are involved. You must have a driver's license for a manual car since she has her own car that we drive. You must be smoke-free as she is sensitive to smoke. Since you will be communicating on her behalf, you need to be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.
