The City Executive Office is the administration of the municipal executive board. We are responsible for governance, monitoring, and development of the city's operations based on the vision and budget approved by the municipal council. We have over 300 employees who primarily work with strategic issues that are of great importance to the city's operations.

The Security Department within the City Executive Office is responsible for central leadership, coordination, and development of the city's entire security work.

The department is led by a security director and currently consists of 16 employees. The department is responsible for developing the city's crisis preparedness, planning for civil defense, risk and vulnerability analyses, and strategic collaboration both within and outside the organization in preparedness and security issues. The department has a special responsibility for the city's security protection work. The operations are in an intensive phase linked to the global situation, the development of total defense, and the need for security protection with a leading position in the security field among the country's municipalities.

In this position, you will work strategically and development-oriented with operational issues across many different sectors of society. Security issues are highly prioritized and have a strong focus with us. You will be part of a department with engaged colleagues and high competence in the field. In the continued development work, we are looking for a strategist focused on security protection and hope that you want to contribute to this important work.

Your role

Your task will be to coordinate, monitor, and continuously develop the city-wide security protection work together with other employees at the City Executive Office and in collaboration with other functions in the city. You will be a close support to the city management in how we should act and create conditions in our operations based on the requirements placed. You will provide guidance and create engagement for the issues among the city's various operations.

As a strategist, you are expected to take your own initiatives that result in the city's security protection work being continuously improved. The systematic work includes adhering to legislation, regulations, and developments in the external environment. An important part of the position is to analyze and follow developments in the field and translate this into relevant measures. Coordination and collaboration both internally and externally are other important components. The position may include being the city's duty officer in readiness (TiB) on a rotating schedule with other employees.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

• several years of current experience in practical and strategic security protection work
• documented education in security protection
• good knowledge of the Swedish laws, regulations, and directives applicable to security protection and information security.

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience of working with these issues in public administration
• knowledge of the Swedish crisis preparedness system and civil defense.

You are analytical and meticulous with the ability to prioritize and structure your work. You enjoy creating contact with other people and contribute to a good working atmosphere in the team. Conditions
