Kalmarsund Education Association is a municipal federation responsible for conducting and developing upper secondary education and municipal adult education for the member municipalities of Borgholm, Kalmar, Mönsterås, Mörbylånga, and Torsås. We have approximately 4000 students and 600 employees spread across our five schools.

Lars Kagg School is one of the upper secondary schools in Kalmarsund Education Association. The school has about 1300 students and around 130 staff members. We offer both vocational programs and preparatory programs for higher education. We provide a friendly and pleasant workplace with engaged colleagues in a developing environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will work as a vocational teacher in the industrial technology program, primarily teaching in the area of product and machine technology. The specialization includes courses such as computer-controlled production, production equipment, production knowledge, and maintenance - hydraulics/pneumatics. Construction, industrial automation, and basic welding skills are also part of the role.

In your role, you will collaborate with the program's industrial teachers and other colleagues, where subject integration and program collaboration are well established. You will plan, prepare, and conduct lessons both in the classroom and workshop according to the instructions and applicable regulations set by the Swedish National Agency for Education's curricula, as well as our internal guidelines. The teaching includes both theoretical and practical components, and you should be competent in both areas. The position includes mentorship and also the procurement, planning, and follow-up of apprenticeship placements. You are also expected to create and maintain contacts with the industry. Together with other staff, you will also contribute to the development of your workplace through ideas and improvement work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a vocational teacher's degree in the field, or alternatively someone with several years of experience working in machine technology, computer-controlled production. CNC programming and an interest in mentoring others, as well as a willingness to train to become a licensed vocational teacher in the future, are required. Basic welding knowledge is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, collaboration skills, creativity, flexibility, and an interest in working with young people.

You have good digital skills and are eager to use digital tools in your teaching. You are confident and stable in your role as a mentor/teacher. You enjoy planning and structuring, both individually and in groups, but can also easily adapt to changing situations. You are committed to your assignment and can adjust your teaching based on the student's needs. You thrive in collaboration with others and find it easy to build relationships with students and colleagues.
