Health and Safety Coordinator at Henriksdal Wastewater Treatment Plant

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Health and Safety Coordinator, you will play an important role working closely with the operations to drive and coordinate health and safety-related issues at the Henriksdal wastewater treatment plant.

You will ensure that there are routines and processes in place to achieve safe and functional planning of operations, projects, and maintenance work concerning risks within the work environment. Your role is also a vital support to managers in risk assessments and investigations. You will help develop and follow up on health and safety work in collaboration with colleagues at Henriksdal and other health and safety specialists at Stockholm Water and Waste.

This is a role for you who enjoys a varied workday, where you work with health and safety issues at a strategic level and are out in the facility to ensure that guidelines and routines work in practice.

The position is a permanent employment with a start date to be agreed upon, located at the Henriksdal wastewater treatment plant. You will report to the group manager for the Coordination group.

Examples of job responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that routines and processes are in place for the operations at Henriksdal wastewater treatment plant.
  • Coordinating health and safety work together with other health and safety specialists and providing backup as needed at other facilities in Stockholm.
  • Collaborating with Stockholm Water and Waste centrally in developing new routines and guidelines and implementing new regulations and legislation.
  • Supporting managers in risk assessments, investigations, workplace accidents, and incidents. Participating in safety group meetings and reporting progress in health and safety work.
  • Working with the IA system and following up on safety rounds, risk assessments, and incidents. Providing information and training as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a person, you are analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to see the big picture and quickly identify possible solutions to complex problems. You are skilled at planning and structuring work, both in the short and long term. Good communication and pedagogical skills are also important for creating good dialogue and collaboration with various stakeholders within the company.

To succeed in this role, we see that you have:

  • Several years of experience in similar tasks, such as health and safety coordinator, health and safety engineer, or experience in a similar operation combined with a role as a safety representative.
  • Several years of experience in environments with many physical health and safety risks, preferably from industry, construction, or civil engineering.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations, as well as good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
  • Very good skills in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
