Security Officer at FMLOG Staff

Are you ready to take a central role in security and intelligence within the Swedish Armed Forces? FMLOG Staff is now looking for a security officer who wants to help strengthen the unit's internal security service during an exciting time of expansion and change.

About the unit:

The Security and Intelligence Department located at FMLOG Staff leads and coordinates security and intelligence work within the unit and provides direct support to the head of FMLOG and FMLOG unit management in the areas of security and intelligence. The deteriorating global situation and the growth of the Armed Forces contribute to significant changes within FMLOG. This is particularly true as logistics in the Armed Forces expands, which may lead to changes in the area of security protection, thereby placing higher demands on security and intelligence work.

Work within the department is characterized by foresight, support to managers and employees, and follow-up within the framework of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines. As a security officer, you will report directly to the Security Manager at FMLOG.

Main responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities include conducting security clearance interviews, and you need to be comfortable in the role of leading conversations. You should have good analytical skills and be able to articulate your assessments in both written documentation and oral presentations with proposals for action. You will also be responsible for handling background checks, security clearance archives, and registers. This requires precision and the ability to structure large amounts of information to ensure legal security, searchability, and contribute to the unit meeting legal requirements in the area. In addition to these tasks, you will support the department's work in other areas of security service as needed, such as tasks related to security protection agreements. You may also be involved in training on security protection and other tasks in security protection.

The position requires ongoing training and further education, participation in exercises, and other activities that involve travel outside the place of duty.

At times, the work can be intense, which means you should be able to handle a high workload and have good teamwork skills.

Together, we will lead the unit's internal security service forward.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading conversations and conducting investigations
  • Experience in personnel security
  • Experience in planning and conducting training
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite
  • Driving license B

Desirable:

  • Experience working within the Armed Forces, particularly in military security service
  • Experience working in an authority governed by the Security Protection Act
  • Knowledge of the Security Protection Act
  • Higher education degree deemed relevant by the employer
  • Completed all or part of the Security Officer Course (SOK)
  • Trained interviewer, conversation leader, or interrogator
  • Knowledge of the Armed Forces' IT systems within the intelligence and security function, such as IS U/S
  • Knowledge of control operations.
  • Experience in staff work
  • Authorized security manager in the Armed Forces.
  • Experience with security protection agreements
  • Experience in archiving and registering documents in an authority
  • International service

Personal qualities:

To succeed in this role, you need to have pedagogical and social skills and be able to work independently, critically, and proactively. You can quickly grasp new complex tasks and have a well-developed ability to collaborate and a high level of security awareness. Furthermore, you are service-oriented and have a high level of integrity. It is natural for you to follow the Armed Forces' leadership and values.
