Malmö Restaurant School is looking for an engaged vocational teacher in hotel, restaurant, and bakery.

Responsibilities

As a vocational teacher, you work to help students develop their full potential – both academically and socially. The vocational teacher works with education and learning based on applicable governing documents. The main responsibilities may include:

• Planning, implementing, and continuously developing, adapting, and modifying teaching and pedagogical methods based on the needs of the student group.
• Supporting, motivating, and stimulating students' knowledge development based on their individual circumstances.
• Following up on students' learning, work, progress, and development to continuously document, analyze, and provide feedback on how each student relates to the knowledge requirements.
• Creating conditions for each student's achievement based on the curriculum, graduation goals, and subject plans.
• Issuing written assessments and conducting grading in relation to the goals.
• Being a mentor for students.
• Collaborating with IoF and BUP as needed.
• Cooperating with APL placements.

The vocational teacher contributes to the school's development work to strengthen the learning environment and promote students' achievement. Qualifications

Requirements:

• Vocational teacher education with qualifications in hotel, restaurant, and bakery, or a higher education degree (at least 180 credits) that the employer considers relevant.
• Experience as a vocational teacher.
• Several years of professional experience in the relevant industry.
• Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities.
• Very good subject knowledge in restaurant, bakery, hotel knowledge, service, and customer interaction.
• Good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can apply them in daily work.
• Good experience using digital tools for communication and pedagogy.
• Very good Swedish in spoken and written form.

Meritorious:

• Special teacher degree with a specialization in developmental disabilities.
• Experience teaching in hotel, restaurant, and bakery.
• Experience teaching relevant subjects in vocational programs.
• Worked with students with NPF diagnoses.

We are looking for someone who is confident in the vocational teacher role and creates good conditions for students' learning and development. You adapt teaching based on the student's and group's circumstances and prior knowledge through a creative approach and excellent pedagogical ability. Your working method is characterized by good structure, and you prioritize and organize tasks effectively. Additionally, you contribute to good collaborations and communicate openly, clearly, and attentively with your surroundings.

About the workplace

Malmö Restaurant School is a vocational high school focusing on restaurant and food. Of the school's approximately 300 students, just over half are enrolled in national programs. The remaining students are in IM programs, most of whom are in individual alternatives and vocational introductions. Malmö Restaurant School also has an adapted upper secondary school with a focus on hotel, restaurant, and bakery as well as Trade and Service.
