Description

The Department of Law is expanding and currently has over 70 employees.

The department is responsible for education within the law program, several other educational programs, and a large number of standalone courses. More information about our activities can be found on our website: Department of Law (https://www.umu.se/juridiska-institutionen/).

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities as a teaching assistant are to assist with teaching in the department's courses and support course leaders with related tasks, such as assessing assignments, managing seminars, preparing and distributing course materials, and other administration depending on current needs. Other tasks may include handling and registering incoming books to the department's library. Additional tasks may arise, and the content and conditions of employment may change over time.

As a teaching assistant, you will engage in the following courses:

  • Introduction to Law and Civil Law
  • Constitutional Law

Qualifications

Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance (HF). Only those who are admitted to undergraduate or advanced level education may be employed as teaching assistants (Chapter 5 § 10 HF).

For this position, we are looking for an actively studying student in the law program at Umeå University. We seek someone who has completed at least 90 credits from the law program. Personal qualities will be highly valued.

Conditions

The position involves work up to 10% of full-time with varying scope during the period 20250819-20260209. The employment must be completed alongside studies, and the salary placement is based on the established salary scale for teaching assistants.
