Temporary Circle Leaders Wanted

We are looking for temporary circle leaders for our activities at senior housing and residences for the elderly with various disabilities or dementia in Åsele.

In this operation, we make a significant difference for the participants. By being present at residences and meeting points, we can offer folk education to those who cannot attend activities on their own. The circle leader is the joy-bringer who, together with the groups, creates conversations and experiences.

We are looking for one or more circle leaders who want to lead activities. Hourly employment applies. Scope to be agreed upon. Start as soon as possible or by agreement. Applications are processed continuously, and employment may occur during the application period.

Hours can be flexibly arranged to combine with other commitments, but will also be adapted according to the needs and possibilities at the residences and for the target group.

Circle leaders visit residences and meeting points every week for regular meetings with different groups. During the meetings, the circle leader presents an activity and leads discussions for exchange among participants. Activities and setups are adapted to the group's needs.

Our operation aims to provide social interaction, memory training, cultural experiences, conversations, and exchanges among participants. Activities can vary and include everything from reading aloud, music, and thematic discussions to simple movement or memory exercises.

The circle leader is supported by a development manager during planning. SV provides materials and suggestions for activity setups.

SV offers all circle leaders a basic circle leader training, and temporary circle leaders are connected with a colleague for mentorship and support.

All SV's activities are reported today via a digital service, on smartphone or computer.

We are looking for you who:

• Want to contribute to the quality of life for the target group and find joy in adapting the activities so that everyone can participate according to their abilities.
• Have experience or engagement with the target group.
• Are good at communication and can show patience and tolerance in dialogue with participants.
• Are flexible and can work independently, both in contact with residences and in carrying out activities.

The Study Association Vuxenskolan is a non-profit folk education organization with the vision of a society where people grow through knowledge, insight, and participation. We are one of Sweden's largest study associations and currently have operations in all municipalities in the country. Every year, we reach over 210,000 unique individuals in study circles, and many participate in two or more circles. Together with open arrangements, such as lectures and cultural programs, we reach about 3.5 million people with our activities across the country.
