The Social Administration provides support to the residents of Botkyrka and is responsible for public authority activities, primarily according to the Social Services Act. The support is for both individuals and their relatives. The Social Administration has a special responsibility for children, youth, and adults in need of support according to social legislation. We are about 500 employees who, with strength-based working methods, provide support to the residents of Botkyrka in an equitable, fair, and safe manner.

The Position and Responsibilities

Within the Social Administration, we have a strong commitment to providing children, youth, and families with the support they need to develop and thrive. We are currently seeking two social workers for our reception unit – an important role where you have the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives while also developing in your professional role.

As a social worker, you will work closely with citizens and be offered a varied and meaningful job. You will meet people in difficult life situations and from different backgrounds, which requires a professional and respectful approach.

Your Responsibilities:

• Receive applications and reports of concern regarding children and conduct safety assessments.
• Meet with children and families and work with children aged 0–18 years.
• Collaborate with schools, police, and the region to ensure appropriate interventions.
• Be out in the community and inform about the support that social services offer.
• Handle preliminary assessments and case management according to applicable guidelines.
• Work in a partially emergency-driven operation where the pace can be high.
• Conduct planned activities even outside office hours to build trust and strengthen the relationship between social services and citizens.
• Document cases, for example, by creating decision support and case notes.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues – you always work with a colleague in all cases and have support from the senior social worker.

The social services are currently undergoing a transition to new legislation that entails an increased focus on early and preventive measures. For us in the reception unit, this means that we increasingly work proactively and create bridges between citizens and social services. This gives us the opportunity to be more present in the community and work for long-term, sustainable solutions that strengthen the individual and prevent the need for interventions later on.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who:

• Has a degree in social work (Proof of degree must be attached to the application)
• Has experience in public authority activities concerning children and youth

Meritorious for this position is experience in the following:

• Experience working according to Signs of Safety and MI (Motivational Interviewing)
• BBIC
• Domestic violence
• Network work
• Work with youth at risk

To thrive in this role, you are a person who is driven to work closely with citizens even out in the field and is passionate about making a difference in their daily lives. You have a good ability to collaborate and enjoy working both with colleagues and external partners.

We see that you have a humble and respectful approach while also being clear, communicative, and confident in yourself. You have an easy time analyzing and understanding issues and can express yourself very well in both spoken and written Swedish.

As the job may involve travel, it is desirable that you have a B driver's license.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
