Material Handler/Reporter for the Maritime Safety Section

We are now looking for a material handler/reporter for the Maritime Safety Section. If you have an interest in maritime operations and want to contribute to the development of the Armed Forces' capabilities, this could be an exciting challenge for you. We offer a position with great freedom under your own responsibility, where working hours are primarily scheduled during daytime. In the Armed Forces, there is an opportunity for flexible hours and the possibility of 3 hours of wellness during work hours each week.

About the Unit

The Naval Warfare School (SSS) supports the naval units with training, development, and unit training. The school conducts training that includes basic soldier and sailor training, basic officer training (officer program and specialist officer training), Higher Specialist Officer Training (HSOU), as well as vocational and position training for employed personnel. The focus of SSS's activities is on the naval units' ability for armed combat.

SSS is headquartered in Karlskrona and consists of several departments, including the Maritime Safety Department, which in turn is divided into two sections, one in Karlskrona and one in Berga.

The Maritime Safety Section in Berga is a newly established part of the Maritime Safety Department to meet the increased training volumes in the Navy. Initially, the Maritime Safety Section in Berga will conduct training in ship fire protection, hull damage protection, CBRN, and sea rescue. In the long term, training in medical care and marine survival techniques will also be conducted. In addition, the operation includes support to naval units during exercises, verification of capabilities, and inspections both nationally and internationally.

Your workplace is located in Berga in Haninge municipality, where you will work in a team of about 10 people with varying competencies. The position is performed in Berga but may involve work at other locations for shorter periods.

Main Responsibilities

You will work independently, but also in collaboration with the section management, course leaders, teachers, and students.

The main tasks will include:

  • Administer training materials, inventory, manage the reporting of materials in data support systems, and send and receive materials before and after basic inspections.
  • Wash and maintain materials.
  • Material distribution during training/exercises.
  • Preparation of materials and facilities.
  • Vehicle maintenance.
  • Support instructors during training/exercises.
  • Assist the training administrator in daily work.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Documented experience in logistics work.
  • Completed high school education with approved grades.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Manual B driver's license.

DESIRABLE

  • Forklift license.
  • Competence in the PRIO system (SAP).
  • Good knowledge of the Armed Forces in general and the Navy in particular.

Employment type: Permanent position at 100% with a 40-hour work week. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.

The Naval Warfare School, SSS, trains officers, specialist officers, sailors, and soldiers at all levels. SSS also conducts studies, trials, and leadership training of ship crews as well as tactics and technology development in the maritime field. SSS also has a responsibility for diving and naval medicine in the Armed Forces. SSS is primarily based in Karlskrona in Blekinge but also has a unit in Berga outside Stockholm that specializes in amphibious warfare.
