Job Responsibilities

As a project manager for leadership development, your main task is to coach and further develop the municipality's leaders and their leadership in accordance with the municipality's management and governance model. You will work individually and with smaller groups of leaders within our organization, based on each individual's assignment, needs, and conditions. Your work aligns with the municipality's overall objectives and our expectations for the organization's leaders. Within the framework of the project, you will help define and clarify the roles of department and unit leaders in accordance with the governance model and based on a trust-based approach.

The project includes creating a clear picture of the organizational and structural conditions for leadership based on our current state and desired state, and providing concrete proposals for methods and improvements to strengthen leadership in our organization. Your task will be to work towards long-term competence development and the municipality's expectations and conditions for its leaders.

The project also involves working with other colleagues in the HR department to find a sustainable way to provide both operational and strategic leadership support in our organization, ensuring that the work aligns with the organization's political goals and intentions. Your closest colleagues in this work will be our HR consultants and our operational strategists.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic degree from a college or university in a relevant field, such as pedagogy, psychology, behavioral science, or another area deemed relevant by the employer. You have experience working as a leader, and it is advantageous if you have worked as a leader in a politically governed organization and understand how political will shapes the direction of operations.

You have experience in educating people and documented experience in structured pedagogical work. You have excellent knowledge of the Swedish language and can express yourself clearly in both speech and writing. It is advantageous if you have previous experience coordinating development work and if you have previously worked with organizational development and internal training.

Bergs Municipality is a Sámi administrative municipality, and we consider knowledge of South Sámi language and culture as an advantage. A driver's license for a passenger car is required as travel may be necessary in the position.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is structured and efficient, who can easily coordinate different tasks and prioritize during more intense periods. You have a well-developed communicative ability and adapt your communication according to the situation and audience. You enjoy working independently and managing your time while also being part of our larger puzzle. You are persistent and systematic in your work and prefer to work long-term rather than towards quick and short-term results. You are stable in your own leadership and feel confident in leading, motivating, and developing others towards clear goals.

For you, follow-up is a natural part of how you perform your work, and you are analytical and enjoy examining situations and finding new solutions to known challenges. You have your own pedagogical insight and a good self-awareness of how you are perceived by others, your strengths, and your areas for improvement. You are skilled at building relationships and are keen to create trusting and long-term collaborations.
