JOB DESCRIPTION
Welcome to the Education Administration and Youth Center activities. The Youth Center activities are divided into nine units and serve as an open and safe meeting place for all youth aged 12-16 years. Our drop-in activities, various group activities, events, and much more are the focus of the Youth Center. We always strive for initiatives to come from the youth themselves. We are now looking for a recreation leader for the summer of 2025.
As a recreation leader, you will be part of a team that together creates meaningful, activity-based, and developmental leisure for our youth during the summer of 2025. The Youth Center is to provide exciting and vibrant meeting places where we, together with the youth, create meaningful leisure. During the summer, the work is based at the youth center as a meeting place, but you will also work outreach and with excursions. The role includes being involved in both planning and executing various activities.
A crucial part of the work is motivation and safety-creating initiatives. We place great value on the participation of youth in both the activities and their planning.
As a summer recreation leader, the work is mainly scheduled for evenings and weekends. The primary target group is youth aged 12-16 years, but in some cases, you may also work with younger or older youth.
We are looking for two recreation leaders for two periods during the summer.
* One for the period 2025-06-17 - 2025-08-10
* One for the period 2025-07-14 - 2025-08-10
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with youth. We prefer that you have a recreation leader education or other equivalent training. Experience working with youth is an advantage.
As a person, you are positive and proactive. You enjoy collaborating and have an easy time creating new relationships and maintaining them while being a good role model. We seek someone who is flexible and can adapt to rapid changes. You are independent in your work style with good organizational and planning skills and the ability to get things done. We strive for youth to receive a calm response and are looking for someone who has the courage to speak up when necessary. You have the ability to distinguish between the issue and the person and can feel secure even in uncertain situations.
We value diversity and inclusion, so experience working with integration, LGBTQI+, accessibility, democracy, and public health is an advantage.
A driver's license, swimming skills, and comfort in water are required.
