Support Assistant for Lindens Daily Activities

Lindens daily activities are aimed at individuals with multiple disabilities but will expand the operations to also create space for participants with more complex support needs.

Your New Job

Your new job will primarily be in the newly started part of the operation and involves being a support for the participants and instructing and guiding them in the activities they perform. We arrange activities that are individually tailored to ability, needs, and interests. The activities we organize can be both indoors and outdoors, in all weather. Since both participants and the operation have varying conditions, it is necessary that you are adaptable in the execution of your task. You will work with different participants, which means that routines, working methods, and structures may vary. A low-arousal approach and clarifying pedagogy are consistent in your working method. Social documentation is also included in the work.

Your Competence

For the title of support assistant, a completed high school program in health and care/nursing assistant with a specialization in the disability area/psychiatry or children and leisure with a focus on social/pedagogical work is required. Alternatively, other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Requirements for the position are that you have at least 1 year of experience working in the disability support area, autism, and challenging behavior, as well as physical and severe disabilities. Training in autism, clarifying communication, and low-arousal approaches is an advantage. You must master Swedish in speech, writing, and reading comprehension as there will be contact with participants, relatives, guardians, and other professionals, as well as documentation and reading information related to the work. A B driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement for the position.

Welcome to Us

Lindens daily activities are located in beautiful facilities in the scenic area of Strandängen. The workgroup consists of 12 competent support assistants, occupational therapists, and personal assistants. Much of the work is done together with colleagues where you organize activities for the participants both in groups and individually. Much of the work takes place on the floor as participants need to get out of their wheelchairs. The activities carried out can include sensory stimulation in various sensory rooms, walking training, standing training, creative activities, theater, music, motor skills, and communication training. Lindens daily activities are aimed at individuals with multiple disabilities but will expand the operations to also create space for participants with more complex support needs. Challenging behavior may occur.

Good to Know

The recruitment concerns a permanent full-time position. Working hours are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 17:00. Ongoing selection will be applied, and interviews are planned only after the advertising period has expired.
