The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Stigby on Visingsö has space for around 30 young people and receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. We are divided into a MBB department (reception and needs assessment), four treatment departments, and we also have an aftercare unit in Jönköping.

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Stigby's school activities offer education for 32 young people. The students study within IMA. They are offered primary school subjects, various upper secondary school subjects, and vocational practical training with elements from working life in the form of APL. There are five vocational programs: industry, crafts, construction, vehicle and transport, as well as restaurant and food programs. Additionally, we have a football focus, which means close collaboration with the island's football club VAIS, as football is an important part of both school and treatment activities. Teaching takes place in small groups. The school activities are a very important success factor within institutional care.

Your task is to assist the physical education teacher who is responsible for sports and health. When the teacher is absent, you will be responsible for the teaching. Additionally, the leisure leader's role includes organizing and creating conditions for Stigby's leisure activities and football profile by planning, collaborating with associations, and cooperating with departments regarding leisure activities. To succeed in your task, you need to build relationships with your students - this is the starting point in our work that leads to students developing their learning and abilities. Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing transformation. Therefore, you need to be a warm, empathetic person driven by a strong inner passion and desire to create extraordinary results. Being a colleague who shares knowledge and contributes to the sense of community at SiS are other qualities that make you interesting. Working hours are during the day, and you will be employed within the school activities as an unqualified teacher, focusing on leisure activities.

• Persistent - you do not give up easily but believe in the student and their abilities to succeed in their learning.
• Ability to play football - where football is Stigby's profile and collaboration with the island's football team and other associations is an important part of this.
• A driving license (B) is a requirement.

Meritorious:

• If you have a leisure pedagogue education/leisure leader education.
• Experience of working in youth care.
