We are looking for someone interested in working as a personal assistant to a wheelchair-bound young man in his 30s with cerebral palsy. He lives in Gislaved with his family. In the role of assistant, you will make a difference in his life and have the chance to help him live a life on the same terms as others, as far as possible.

The work includes everything from personal care, intimate hygiene, transfers, use of various aids, training, assistance with activities, and accompanying him to daily activities, etc. He is functionally blind, seeing a small percentage, and it will also be required that you, as a personal assistant, can provide visual interpretation. The workplace is in his home, at daily activities, and wherever he may be otherwise. Working hours are scheduled both during the day and in the evening, Monday to Friday. We are primarily looking for summer substitutes, but there is also a chance to get work after the summer. We would also like you to be able to work with short notice if needed, due to illness, etc.

As you will be part of a team of personal assistants selected for your client, it is important to have a good work ethic where everyone supports each other and can work with short notice if needed, due to illness, etc. We also expect you to be available during the summer and holiday periods.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We would like you to have a flexible and independent working style and be able to easily adapt to new situations. You must be able to take responsibility as you work based on the individual's needs. You should have good documentation skills and maintain a professional attitude. You should have a genuine interest and feeling for caring for people.

Other qualities that are beneficial for the job include a good sense of humor, calmness, patience, and being responsible. You must be able to speak fluent Swedish as this is a job where good communication is very important. It is a significant advantage if you have experience working in personal assistance.
