At the IT Administration, we work together and closely with the client on development, technology, and high-quality deliveries. Our deliveries include operation, management, development, and support of various IT services across the entire organization. The IT Systems Operations and Development unit is part of Region Gävleborg's IT Administration, and our mission within the IT workplace is to ensure that the Region's IT workplace functions optimally and is tailored to the needs of the operations.

The IT Administration is growing in line with digitalization, and development is progressing. We are now looking for an IT technician with a focus on VDI who wants to join us on the journey towards a smarter and more digital society!

RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of IT technician with a focus on VDI, you will be part of the IT workplace team, where you will share responsibility for the management of our client platform for VDI. You will closely collaborate with your colleagues in the IT workplace team, which is part of the IT Systems Operations and Development unit, as well as work with other colleagues within the IT Administration. Furthermore, you will also work with case management, troubleshooting, and further development.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• managing our client platform for VDI
• working with case management and ongoing improvements and further development
• providing 3rd line support for troubleshooting.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, you have the ability to independently structure your work and ensure that your tasks are completed. You have good collaboration skills, can communicate well, are attentive, and can solve challenges in a constructive manner. You can plan and organize your work effectively and understand the importance of documentation and follow-up. We also see that you are a confident, stable, and self-sufficient person who contributes to the team's and administration's common mission.

For the role of IT technician with a focus on VDI, you should have:

• a higher education in IT or equivalent documented work experience that the employer deems relevant
• solid experience with client operating systems (Windows) such as registry management, GPO, Active Directory, application installations, and user profiles
• knowledge of thin clients and client virtualization
• knowledge of drivers and peripherals
• good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of ITIL and have previously worked with Omnissa Horizon products (formerly VMware Horizon) in larger environments. If you have certificates from Omnissa and/or VMware, that is also an advantage for the position.
