About the unit

We are about 35 employees at the FMTIS Implementation Department in Ronneby, consisting of two sections, Tele and IT. We perform operations and maintenance of the Armed Forces' telecommunication and IT systems. We ensure communication for the Armed Forces' other units and are located at Ronneby Garrison. We offer a job that differs from others, providing many new experiences and good development opportunities.

Main tasks

We work in a developing environment characterized by ambition, technical competence, and opportunities for personal development. We are looking for someone with a strong sense of responsibility who is eager to take on new challenges. The tasks are performed both independently and in groups and include, among other things:

  • Performing operations and maintenance on networks and peripheral equipment in the Armed Forces' IT environments
  • Configuration of firewalls and other network equipment
  • Implementing existing hardware
  • Documentation
  • Delivering and installing hardware
  • Supporting end-users via a ticketing system

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Completed upper secondary education or equivalent
  • At least 1-2 years of work experience in administration/configuration of networks
  • Current and relevant knowledge of switches, routers, and network protocols
  • Good knowledge and understanding of networks and IT infrastructure
  • Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
  • Driver's license at least B (manual)

Personal qualities

As a person, you are meticulous and security-conscious, have good initiative, and are structured in your work. You have good collaboration skills, perform tasks with high quality, and have a desire to further develop within the competence area of the position. Furthermore, you are a team player with good social competence. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious

  • Good knowledge of Cisco's network products
  • Certification in Cisco networking (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
  • Knowledge of firewalls (Palo Alto)
  • Current and relevant experience with the Armed Forces' IT systems
  • Familiarity with the Armed Forces/FMTIS
  • Military driver's license for passenger car
  • Previous experience in user support
  • Knowledge of hardware and peripherals
  • Administrative handling of hardware

Other

Employment form: permanent employment starting with a 6-month probationary period for those who are not already employed within the Armed Forces.
Work location: Kallinge. Travel and work at other locations are included in the position.
Start date: as agreed.
In the Armed Forces, the position is referred to as Operations Engineer.
