What does the role involve?

We are looking for you who primarily want to work with review, examination, and processing of state grants and support in accordance with the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's quality manual. This work also includes guiding municipal authorities through the grant process. Other tasks that may become relevant include updating information in the EBH support system (database for contaminated sites), inventorying contaminated sediments, and providing supervisory guidance to the county's municipalities.

You will also have an important role in various development and infrastructure projects that take place as Stockholm County grows, where the group contributes information and knowledge on issues related to contaminated sites.

The work involves close collaboration with other functions within the County Administrative Board, such as lawyers and planning case handlers.

Other tasks within the environmental department may also become relevant.

Are you the one we are looking for?

You should have:

• a university degree in natural sciences or engineering, or another degree that we assess as relevant,
• very good ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish,
• experience working with contaminated sites at a municipality, county administrative board, or as a consultant.

We are looking for someone who is unpretentious and has a good ability to be responsible and constructive together with others. To succeed in your role, you also need to be structured and accustomed to handling several tasks simultaneously.

You are confident in yourself and in your professional role, and you are used to, and enjoy, working independently. The versatility of the position presupposes that you have a good ability to create and maintain good relationships with colleagues, citizens, and other societal actors.

As an employee of the County Administrative Board, you need to:

• have the ability to make decisions from a holistic perspective, taking several viewpoints into account,
• understand that a central role for the County Administrative Board is to make trade-offs between different interests,
• have the ability to prioritize and adapt to work with new tasks or in new contexts.

Great importance will be attached to your personal qualities.

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience of supervision according to the Environmental Code Chapter 9 and/or 10,
• experience of economics in project form,
• experience of processing grant-funded investigation or action projects,
• experience of reviewing liability investigations within contaminated sites,
• driver's license, class B.

About us and the role

The position is located in the Environment Department with approximately 130 employees. You will become part of the Land and Water Protection Unit, which works with examination, supervision, and supervisory guidance within water activities, water protection areas, and contaminated sites. The team working with contaminated sites is a working group of ten people with broad competence.

We have an open working climate and we work both individually and jointly, but always with the opportunity for discussions and check-ins.

Our office is located centrally in Stockholm. Possibilities for remote work exist based on the needs of the operations.

How we recruit

The position is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period.

As a permanent employee at the County Administrative Board of Stockholm County, you will be mobilized for war service based on the needs of the total defense.
