The Special Flight Squadron in Linköping at Skaraborg Air Base conducts flight operations with radar and signals intelligence aircraft, transport aircraft, aircraft maintenance services, and continued airworthiness work. The squadron is an operational unit and can be deployed in national and international missions with short notice.

The squadron staff is primarily responsible for the squadron's operational planning, internal processes, and follow-up. The staff develops operational orders together with the squadron leadership and leads the war-fighting unit development. As a staff soldier, you will, in collaboration with the Chief of Staff and other parts of the staff, work with case management, staff preparation, and coordination of materials for reports and orders.

As a Staff Soldier at the Special Flight Squadron in Linköping, you are offered varied and developmental tasks that give you broad competence in various staff roles. This provides you with experience for a future role in the Swedish Armed Forces.

You are part of the squadron staff led by the Chief of Staff. As a staff soldier, you will be an important support to commanders and work independently within your areas of responsibility while supporting others on the staff and squadron together with the expedition leader. The work of a staff soldier can be within the areas of administration, logistics, and security. Training/continued training takes place both at F7 Såtenäs, Malmen, and remotely.

Main tasks

• Supports commanders at the squadron with various administrative and practical tasks
• Handles staff duties in collaboration with the Chief of Staff and the expedition leader
• Participates in the implementation and development of the unit's capabilities in command, control, and logistics
• Responsible for monitoring parts of the squadron's IT equipment
• Supports the S4 function (Logistics) with various tasks

If there is interest, training and work can also take place within IT security and security guard duties.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Completed upper secondary education
• Completed basic training (GU) or compulsory military service with passing grades
• Category B driver's license for manual transmission
• Good knowledge of the Office package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language
• Good physical fitness
• Swedish citizenship

Personal qualities To succeed in the role of staff soldier at the Special Flight Squadron, you are structured, flexible, and have good communication skills. You can take initiative, are independent, and can prioritize. You are stress-resistant, flexible, have an orderly nature, good teamwork skills, and a service attitude, and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with different timeframes. Other

Employment type: Fixed-term employment as a continuously serving assistant (GSS/K) for up to 8 years with support of Section 7 of the Act (2012:332) on certain Swedish Armed Forces appointments.

Permanent employment begins with a 6-month probationary period.

Salary: We apply individual salary setting. The lowest placement for this position is 28,000 SEK/month; further, we take previous work experience and competence into account.

The position entails requirements for physical and mental fitness. Travel for work and personal training occurs. Since both the position and tasks are linked to a war organization, you will also be mobilized in our organization. This means, among other things, that you will receive training on what is expected of you during heightened readiness.

Skaraborg Air Base is a versatile and unique air base. Here you find combat aircraft as well as the Swedish Armed Forces' combined resource of transport and special aircraft. We conduct basic and position training for conscript recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many missions.
