Technical Manager for Special Flight Squadron in Linköping

The Special Flight Squadron in Linköping at Skaraborg Air Force Base conducts flight operations with radar and signals intelligence aircraft, transport aircraft, aviation maintenance services, and continued airworthiness work. The squadron is an operational unit and can be deployed for missions both nationally and internationally with short notice. The squadron staff is primarily responsible for the squadron's operational planning, internal processes, and follow-up. Together with the squadron leadership, the staff develops operational orders and leads the development of the wartime unit.

As Technical Manager at the Special Flight Squadron, you are responsible for the implementation of the technical service, leadership, planning, and follow-up. We offer highly varied and developmental tasks where you shape the service based on the squadron's needs. You are part of the squadron staff led by the chief of staff. The work ensures that we have the right equipment and can quickly adapt to different missions.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the technical service (excluding flight-related equipment)
• Develop and follow up on long- and short-term maintenance plans
• Monitor, order, execute, and document measures according to technical orders, as well as preventive and corrective maintenance according to the maintenance plan
• Responsible for development and maintenance work within your own field of expertise
• Plan for and solve tasks before and during exercises and missions
• Support the staff and other parts of the squadron in other operations

Qualifications

• Completed upper secondary education
• Completed officer/specialist officer examination
• Good knowledge of office packages
• Category B driver's license for manual transmission
• Good physical fitness
• Swedish citizenship

Other Information

• Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces apply a six-month probation period for those not already employed by the agency.

• Salary: We apply individual salary setting. The lowest placement for this position is 33,000 SEK/month; further, we take previous work experience and competence into account.

The position requires physical and mental fitness. Travel for work and personal training occurs. Since both the position and tasks are linked to a wartime organization, you will also be assigned to wartime duties in our organization. This means, among other things, that you will receive training on what is expected of you during heightened readiness.

Skaraborg Air Force Base is a versatile and unique air force base. It houses combat aircraft as well as the Swedish Armed Forces' combined resource of transport and special aircraft. We conduct basic and duty training for conscript recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many missions. In Sweden, operations are located at Såtenäs, Malmen, Arlanda, and Karlsborg.
