About Markstridsskolan

The role of the Army Combat School (MSS) is to create the prerequisites, together with other parts of the army, for ground combat units to solve their assigned tasks in the best possible way, both nationally and internationally. MSS also performs tasks for the entire Swedish Armed Forces, such as the development and procurement of soldier-carried equipment, small arms, and support weapons. Within this framework, the Army Combat School educates the Armed Forces' future leaders using advanced training facilities and extensive expertise.

About the Position

Serving at the Specialist Officer Education program involves both educating and training future specialist officers with a focus on infantry, cavalry, and armor. The education is conducted at the individual, group, platoon, and company levels. Your duties will consist of educating and mentoring cadets in various areas, including troop training, troop leadership, and combat shooting. You will also educate cadets in tactics, technology, and leadership. Additionally, you will be responsible for various educational projects.

We view a service at MSS as a natural and essential phase in every army officer's military career. We are confident that a service at MSS will provide you with valuable knowledge about the latest and upcoming developments within the Army and the Swedish Armed Forces. The Specialist Officer Education program operates in Kvarn.

Qualifications

  • Specialist Officer SO7
  • Officer OF1
  • Good experience as an instructor at company and platoon levels
  • Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing
  • Class B driver's license

Meritorious

  • Served at platoon or company level in tank units, armored infantry units, motorized infantry units, ranger units, or reconnaissance units.
  • FUSA training (First Aid and Survival)
  • Completed UL (Developing Leadership)
  • Experience as a platoon leader or deputy platoon leader

The Army Combat School is an army-common school for the development, education, and training of the army's combat units. The Army Combat School educates officers and specialist officers, plans and conducts exercises, and trains combat units in advanced combat training facilities.

In close cooperation with the Army Staff and other units, the Army Combat School develops standard units, capabilities, methods, and materiel. Within the framework of the entire Swedish Armed Forces' growth, the Army Combat School plays an important role in the ongoing modernization of the army.

The meaning of this varies depending on the type of position. Each permanent position begins with a 6-month probationary period, provided you are not already employed by the Swedish Armed Forces.
