About the Special Air Squadron
The Special Air Squadron in Linköping is growing and is currently recruiting. The squadron is part of the Skaraborg Air Force Wing (F 7), with operations based in Linköping/Malmen. The Special Air Squadron is one of Sweden's most experienced combat units, conducting daily active flight operations with S102B signals intelligence aircraft, S100D radar surveillance aircraft, and TP100 transport aircraft, as well as providing aircraft maintenance services and managing continuing airworthiness. As a combat and operational unit, the squadron can be deployed rapidly for missions both nationally and internationally. The operations are dynamic and carried out at a relatively high pace with high demands for quality, precision, and safety. High flight safety is central to our operations.
The Special Air Company consists of two aircraft maintenance platoons and a material platoon responsible for aircraft maintenance and material services for the squadron's aircraft. The maintenance platoons perform aircraft maintenance in the hangars and deploy flight mechanics during flights. The material platoon serves as the squadron's logistical resource, performing forward maintenance of type-specific and general aviation and base equipment, as well as planning and ordering heavy maintenance.
