The Special Flight Squadron in Linköping at Skaraborg Air Wing conducts flight operations with radar and signals intelligence aircraft, transport aircraft, aircraft maintenance services, and continuing airworthiness work. The squadron is an operational unit and can be deployed in missions both nationally and internationally with short notice.

Main Duties

The main task of the Special Flight Company is to ensure the Special Flight Squadron's need for airworthy aircraft over time; Aircraft 102 (Gulfstream GIV) and Aircraft 100 (Saab 340). The position is part of the Special Flight Company's Material Platoon.

The Material Platoon handles part of the squadron's logistics and technical support. The platoon's tasks are mainly divided into two parts: 1) stores and material services, and 2) technical maintenance of vehicles and equipment. The role of Section Commander involves a flexible, precise, and service-oriented approach where you, together with your section, will be a key player in the planning, execution, and follow-up of the section's training and operational activities.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Completed upper secondary education
  • Category B driver's license for manual transmission
  • Good knowledge of English in speaking and writing
  • Good experience working in a digital computer environment, including the Office suite
  • Good physical fitness
  • Swedish citizenship

Personal Qualities

We use several computer systems to work systematically with inventory management and flight safety. The work is highly regulated, meaning you should be able to read, understand, and adhere to regulations. Good teamwork skills and a service attitude are essential as the work involves contact with many different stakeholders. You are engaged, proactive, and want to achieve results with high quality, as well as having a high level of safety awareness. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Merits

  • Officer training in logistics or alternatively a technical service.
  • Experience and competence in aircraft maintenance, logistics, or technical service.
  • Experience in a leadership position in the Swedish Armed Forces.
  • Extended driving license categories / driver's license C/CE and truck or wheel loader.
  • Good knowledge of PRIO, FENIX, or LIFT systems.

Other Information

Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.

Service degree: Full-time

Date of commencement: As soon as possible according to agreement

Position level: SO 6-7

Skaraborg Air Wing is a versatile and unique air wing. Here you find combat aircraft as well as the Swedish Armed Forces' combined resource of transport and special aircraft. We conduct basic and position training for conscript recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many missions. In Sweden, the operations are located at Såtenäs, Malmen, Arlanda, and Karlsborg. Abroad, we are responsible for Gripen support in Thailand and for the Swedish personnel at the international transport cooperation Heavy Airlift Wing in Hungary.
