The Special Flight Squadron in Linköping at Skaraborg Air Force Base conducts flight operations with radar and signals intelligence aircraft, transport aircraft, aircraft maintenance services, and continued airworthiness work. The squadron is an operational unit and can be deployed in national and international missions with short notice.

Main Responsibilities

The main task of the Special Flight Company is to ensure the Special Flight Squadron's need for airworthy aircraft over time; Fpl 102 (Gulfstream GIV) and Fpl 100 (Saab 340). The position of Helper Mechanic is part of the Special Flight Company's material platoon.

The material platoon handles part of the squadron's logistics and technical support. The platoon's tasks are mainly divided into two parts: 1) warehouse and material services, and 2) technical maintenance of vehicles and equipment. This can be utilized for, for example, transport of equipment or vehicles.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Approved upper secondary education
• Category B driver's license for manual transmission
• Good knowledge of English in terms of speaking and writing
• Good experience working in a digital computer environment, including the Office package
• Good physical fitness
• Swedish citizenship

Merits

• ADR training
• Extended driver's license categories / driver's license C/CE and forklift or wheel loader
• Experience in material services/warehouse services.
• Experience in maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and aggregates.

Other

Employment type: Fixed-term employment as GSS/K (section leaders, soldiers, and sailors with continuous service) for 6 years with the possibility of extension up to 12 years according to the Act (2012:332) on certain Armed Forces employments. The employment begins with a probationary period of 6 months.

Salary: We apply individual salary setting. The lowest placement for this position is 28,000 SEK/month; further, we take previous work experience and competence into account.

Skaraborg Air Force Base is a versatile and unique air force base. Here you will find combat aircraft as well as the Swedish Armed Forces' combined resource of transport and special aircraft. We conduct basic and position training for conscript recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many missions.
