The Research Group
The research group is led by Professor Petru Liuba, and within the group, work focuses on the simulation of balloon dilation for aortic valve stenosis. The research project is conducted in collaboration with LTH but is carried out at the Pediatric Cardiology/Pediatric Heart Center in Lund (Seminariet).

The research group is now seeking a Project Assistant for a fixed-term position at 50%. The desired start date is September 1, 2026, or by agreement, until February 28, 2027.

Job Description
The Project Assistant will work on the development of generic models and patient-specific models for the simulation of angioplasty for valvular stenosis. Varied tasks related to the project will be included in the role.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are required for the position:
- Recently graduated engineer with a focus on computational mechanics, numerical simulations, or a related field.
- Experience with the finite element method (FEM) and cardiovascular simulation, preferably with software such as Abaqus.
- Experience in programming in Python and/or MATLAB is desirable.
- Previous research experience, preferably within pediatric cardiology or cardiovascular biomechanics, is desirable.
- Strong analytical skills and experience working systematically with complex technical problems.
- Good collaboration and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

The position is fixed-term at 50% starting on the desired date of September 1, 2026, or by agreement, until February 28, 2027.
