Do you have experience in analysis, planning, or controlling within a labor-intensive operation? Then the role of Planning Controller at SJ Stockholmståg might be for you!
At SJ Stockholmståg, we are now looking for an analytical and structured Planning Controller who works across operations and wants to help develop our planning capabilities.
As a Planning Controller, you will work within the Planning Department and play a central role in ensuring that our human resources match the needs of the operation. You will work closely with the operation's management teams, traffic planning, and personnel planning to provide decision support that enables an efficient, sustainable, and cost-aware operation. The Planning Department lays the foundation for production and has central strategic importance for the business. The role involves significant responsibility for analysis, follow-up, and development of the operation, with a special focus on the budget process, resource balance, and planning prerequisites.
The position is based at our headquarters in Stockholm, and the work is performed primarily on-site.
The role involves:
Developing and being responsible for personnel forecasts, serving as a central support in the operation's budget and forecasting work.
Monitoring, analyzing, and visualizing resource balance and staffing needs over time.
Developing qualified decision support related to changes in traffic, staffing, and working methods.
Analyzing the consequences of different planning scenarios and supporting the operation in changes to workforce size, for example during traffic changes or recruitment, to ensure a balance between cost, quality, and robustness.
Supporting the Planning Department internally with priorities related to resource balance and planning prerequisites.
Identifying and driving improvements in planning processes, particularly related to internal delivery points, working methods, and analysis methodology.
Contributing knowledge about collective agreements and working time regulations and their impact on resource needs and costs.
You are part of the Planning Department's management team and report to the Head of Planning. The role involves close collaboration with the management teams whose operations you support, as well as with traffic planning, personnel planning, finance, and HR.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who is analytical and structured, with a strong interest in how data and analysis can contribute to better decisions. You are curious and solution-oriented, and thrive in a role where you can combine analysis with broad collaboration within the operation. You have an aptitude for seeing connections and can translate analysis into clear, pedagogical messages and concrete recommendations that can be used in practice – even for recipients without detailed insight into the data.
To thrive and function well in the role, we see that you:
Have a relevant university degree in fields such as economics, industrial economics, logistics, or engineering.
Have a few years of experience in analysis, planning, or controlling, preferably within a company in the transport sector.
Have good ability to analyze large data sets and identify connections.
Have good proficiency in Excel and IT.
Have very good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Application and information
Selection is ongoing, so please submit your application as soon as possible. As part of the process, we will conduct a background check.
We are a drug- and alcohol-free workplace where random checks are conducted.
If you are currently employed or have previously been employed within the SJ Group, we will take internal references as a step in the employment process.
