About the Department

The Infectious Diseases Clinic at Sahlgrenska University Hospital is an exciting and dynamic workplace where we combine infectious disease care, research, teaching, and development. Here, you will gain in-depth knowledge of infectious diseases, care hygiene, and infection control, while helping to shape the future of infectious disease care in a globalized world.

About Ward 302

The unit has 14 care beds, four of which are intended for intermediate care and ten for general infectious disease care. Here, adult patients with a broad spectrum of infectious conditions are treated, often with rapidly changing care needs.

We collaborate with the Emergency Department regarding a specific sepsis pathway, ensuring rapid and efficient management of patients with serious infections. Our patients also arrive via the infectious diseases clinic, other care wards, or after intensive care.

Who are we looking for?

• You are a registered nurse with an interest in infectious disease care
• Experience in emergency care, infectious disease care, and/or intermediate care is meritorious – but your personal suitability is most important

Clinical Base Year

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Base Year, which is our introduction program.

The Clinical Base Year is mandatory and lasts during the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. Additionally, it includes working on at least two different wards to broaden your competence.

Foreign Nurse/Doctor

In the event of recruiting nurses/doctors with foreign qualifications/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish qualification/specialist certificate.
