About Us

The Bipolar Clinic is the country's largest specialist clinic for bipolar disorder. The clinic is a knowledge center for bipolar disorder and is the country's leading center for research on bipolar syndromes. We collaborate closely with the Sahlgrenska Academy, and several employees are engaged in teaching and research within the affective field. The clinic also hosts the national quality register BiPsy, and we work on projects to increase the quality of care and value for the patient.

Our clinical mission is to investigate and treat bipolar disorder in patients over 18 years of age living in Gothenburg, Mölndal, Partille, Härryda, and Öckerö. We work with structured instruments and integrate clinical operations with quality work and research.

Job Description

As an occupational therapist, you will be part of a team consisting of a nurse, counselor, psychologist, and doctor. There is also a rehab coordinator at the clinic. You will have regular meetings with other occupational therapists at the clinic.

Although people with bipolar disorder maintain stability regarding their illness, a significant proportion have functional impairments in daily life and difficulties maintaining work/studies. A large part of the occupational therapist's work involves assessing the patient's functional and activity capacity.

The occupational therapist contributes to creating structures, routines, and insight with the aim of preventing, improving, and compensating for reduced activity capacity and increasing independence in daily life. Creating balance in activities and circadian rhythms are areas where interventions typically occur. The occupational therapist also trials assistive devices. The Bipolar Clinic actively works to increase the employability of people with bipolar disorder. We therefore encourage innovative thinking, creativity, and development of work in this area.

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist. Experience working in psychiatry is meritorious.

We are looking for you who want to work in specialized psychiatric care where the level of knowledge and competence is high. You are curious about research and development work. We are looking for a person who is independent, creative, flexible, and has good collaboration skills. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
