NU Hospital, part of the Region of Västra Götaland, is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We operate at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. Our catchment area covers 280,000 inhabitants, and we are approximately 5,000 employees dedicated to providing high-quality and safe specialist healthcare every day. Located on the west coast, our area offers diverse nature including sea, mountains, forests, and lakes.
Description
Our clinic is the hub of our psychiatric specialist operations, aiming to provide excellent care based on science and proven experience, including assessment, investigation, treatment, and rehabilitation. Our target group consists of individuals needing psychiatric specialist care for conditions such as severe anxiety, serious depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, complex trauma, or severe personality disorders.
As a psychologist, you will join a multidisciplinary team comprising psychologists, physicians, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, and secretaries. We are a well-established group with diverse specializations under one roof and a strong sense of community. We view professional development as mutually beneficial, believing that the desire to contribute to the organization's growth increases when employees feel inspired in their daily work.
There are excellent opportunities for further education, including within the Region of Västra Götaland's specialist training program for psychologists. The clinic aims to increase the number of specialist psychologists in the long term, but other development paths are also highly valued.
Responsibilities
You will work with psychotherapy and psychological treatment with varying focus and complexity. The role also includes assessment and investigative work, particularly regarding personality and neuropsychiatric issues. Treatment is offered both individually and in groups. You will work closely with other professions in the team and actively participate in the clinic's collaborative efforts.
We offer regular supervision and collegial support in both psychotherapeutic work and neuropsychological assessments. The position is based at the clinic, and the work is primarily performed on-site.
Qualifications
You must be a licensed psychologist. Experience in adult psychiatric treatment and assessment is desirable. Further education in psychological differential diagnostics and assessment methodology is an advantage. Specialist certification and additional training in specific treatment methods such as CBT, PDT, PE, or EMDR are considered merits. We seek a psychologist with an eclectic approach, as we value diverse perspectives among psychologists and between professions.
We want all our employees to be involved in creating a workplace characterized by collaboration, participation, equality, job satisfaction, respect, and joint development. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, where teamwork skills and the ability to work independently are important.
Other Information
We conduct ongoing interviews throughout the application period. For positions within psychiatry, we always require extracts from the criminal record and suspicion registers, handled by the employer.
We look forward to receiving your application!
