Description

The Anesthesia/Operation and ICU/IMCU/Post-op departments at Skaraborg Hospital (SkaS) operate at hospitals in Falköping, Lidköping, and Skövde. The units collaborate closely – both locally in each town and jointly within SkaS – with the goal of always keeping the patient in focus. Our work is process-oriented, and we drive continuous operational development according to SkaS guidelines.

At the anesthesia and operation unit in Skövde, daily elective surgery is performed for both inpatients and day surgery patients, as well as extensive emergency surgical operations. The operations run 24/7, 365 days a year.

Since 2023, we have been working in new and purpose-built facilities. The unit has 14 operating rooms, including two hybrid rooms and one robotic surgery room. We are approximately 150 employees, organized into North and South sections, each with their own unit manager.

Job Responsibilities

As an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) / Assistant Nurse, you work in a team with scrub nurses, anesthetists, anesthesiologists, and surgeons. Through a high level of staff competence – medically, nursing-wise, and technically – we provide the patient with the best possible care. As an Assistant Nurse, you take significant responsibility together with the surgical team and are a crucial part of ensuring the operation is performed safely. The logistics surrounding surgery place high demands on the Assistant Nurse's competence.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a trained Assistant Nurse with a drive to develop yourself and your workplace. You should have good teamwork skills, be flexible, open to development, and able to work both independently and in a team. Personal suitability is highly valued.

The work may involve shifts at all hours of the day and night.
