About the role
Our client is a company specializing in integrated mobile satellite communication services, SATCOM-as-a-Service, for customers globally. They offer high-capacity communication services that enable fast and reliable broadband connections for users in areas with limited or no terrestrial infrastructure. Their services are often used in situations where traditional networks are insufficient, such as in disaster relief operations, military operations, and by media organizations for live broadcasts.
The company's core technology includes advanced satellite communication systems and terminals that are compact and easy to transport. The business rents capacity from other operators' satellites and recently launched its first own satellite.
In the role of Spectrum Engineer, you will work with frequency planning to ensure the organization's spectrum assets. The role involves familiarizing yourself with and following the development of the ITU (International Telecommunication Union) Radio Regulations. Together with a colleague, you will be responsible for this area with support from the manager and other experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain spectrum assets for current and future systems
- Regularly review ITU BR IFIC publications regarding satellite networks and, if necessary, inform relevant spectrum authorities about the need for coordination
- Prepare and communicate requests for the inclusion of territory in service areas for ITU registrations
- Maintain and oversee deadlines for satellite registrations
- Study the impact of proposed changes to the ITU Radio Regulations on the company's spectrum assets
- Analyze other operators' satellite registrations
- Assist in coordinating technical parameters for the company's satellite network with other satellite operators
- Maintain a register and overview of existing and upcoming relevant satellites
- Support the overall strategic spectrum planning work
We are looking for someone who
- Has a Master's degree in physics, electrical engineering, or mathematics, or similar
- Has the ability to familiarize yourself with new subject areas, technical texts, and regulatory texts
- Has a good understanding of mathematical modeling and computer simulations
- Has good knowledge of Matlab, Python, C++, or similar
- Has skills in preparing written reports
- Has fluent skills in both Swedish and English as the work is conducted in both languages
It is an advantage if you have
- An understanding of concepts within radio physics and radio wave propagation
