As a consultant at Edge, you will work on exciting projects with leading companies and organizations within sectors such as finance, public sector, industry, retail, and tech. You will become part of engaged teams, collaborating closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and analysts to translate business needs into sustainable and scalable data solutions.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and evolving modern cloud-based data platforms. You will work across the entire data flow, from collection and transformation to data modeling and delivering data for analytics, reporting, and AI solutions.

You will build robust data pipelines, optimize performance, and ensure high data quality while contributing to modern practices in DataOps, DevOps, and automation. The role involves close collaboration with both technical teams and business units, helping to translate complex requirements into smart and long-term solutions.

Responsibilities

Among other things, you will:

• Design and develop modern data pipelines and data platforms.
• Build ETL and ELT flows for large datasets.
• Work with Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse solutions.
• Model and structure data for analytics, BI, and AI.
• Optimize performance, data quality, and scalability.
• Automate deployments through CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Collaborate with the business to understand and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Provide technical advisory and contribute to the continuous improvement of customers' data platforms.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in modern Data Engineering who thrives on solving complex problems. You are accustomed to taking ownership, work in a structured manner, and value collaboration where knowledge sharing and quality are prioritized.

You have strong communication skills and feel equally comfortable in technical discussions as in dialogues with business stakeholders. You are curious about new technology and eager to continue developing within modern data platforms and cloud solutions.

Competencies

To succeed in this role, we look for:

• At least 8 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Very strong skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience with modern cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar data platforms.
• Good knowledge of ETL/ELT, data modeling, and Data Warehouse/Lakehouse.
• Experience with Spark, DBT, Airflow, or similar technologies.
• Experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Experience with agile working methods and DevOps.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications

We consider it an extra plus if you have experience with:

• Microsoft Fabric
• Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
• Kafka or streaming platforms
• Kubernetes
• Delta Lake, Iceberg, or Hudi
• Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
• Data Mesh and Data Products
• AI, Machine Learning, or GenAI solutions
• Certifications in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
