About the Role
Our client is seeking an engaged Line Controller for a central and business-close role within Research, Development and Medical Affairs (RDMA). The organization manages an annual budget of several billion SEK, distributed between project activities and the ongoing line organization, consisting of approximately 200 employees and 100 cost centers across Europe, the USA, and Japan.

Key Responsibilities
Your main areas of responsibility include:
- Acting as a financial business partner to function heads and senior stakeholders within RDMA.
- Developing a deep understanding of business plans, priorities, resource needs, and cost drivers.
- Constructively challenging budget owners' assumptions and plans, and contributing to identifying practical solutions that balance scientific needs with available resources.
- Driving the four annual planning and forecast cycles, including the budget process.
- Coordinating and quality-assuring financial data from a large number of cost centers and business areas.
- Monitoring actual performance against budget/forecast and analyzing the underlying causes of variances.
- Identifying financial risks and opportunities and explaining their impact on the full-year forecast.
- Taking responsibility for relevant monthly and quarterly closing activities (accruals, reclassifications, and closing documentation).
- Collaborating with accounting, Business Controllers, System Controllers, and the broader global finance organization to improve processes and transparency.
Who We Are Looking For
- Have approximately 4–6 years of experience in Business Controlling, Line Controlling, or Finance Business Partnering.
- Have experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance management.
- Have a good understanding of monthly closing, accruals, and other accounting-related controlling activities.
- Possess strong analytical skills and advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Are fluent in English and have good knowledge of Swedish.
Qualifications That Are a Plus
- Fluency in Swedish.
- Experience with the business system IFS and/or reporting tools such as Cognos.
- Experience from Life Science, the pharmaceutical industry, research, or other knowledge-intensive industries.
- Experience with R&D controlling (Research and Development).
- Experience providing financial support and guidance to teams or organizations working on clinical studies.
- Experience with digital/AI-assisted automation in finance.
