This mainly involves:

- keeping the process together regarding the establishment and decommissioning of stations with support from the strategic administrator.
- processing so-called restoration cases; the task involves contact with local and regional authorities such as county administrative boards, environmental and health protection offices, and building permit offices.
- ensuring a functioning infrastructure for the networks regarding land agreements, electricity agreements, observers/supervisors, and communication of measurement data in collaboration with the strategic administrator.
- updating station-related metadata, for example, address and contact details, position of the measurement site, and equipment.
- developing and updating instructions for the administration and supervision of the station networks in collaboration with the strategic administrator.
- responsible for monitoring data availability and developing these measurements together with the strategic administrator.
- driving projects/activities, but it may also involve other assignments.
Characteristic of the assignment is that it is a mix of administrative management work and forward-looking development work. Common to both parts is that they are carried out in dialogue with other actors such as internal and external customers, landowners, observers, and other authorities. The closest collaboration is with other administrators, strategic administrators, and employees responsible for technology and facilities.

Your profile
We are looking for you with an academic degree (at least bachelor's level) in the natural sciences area or other corresponding education/experience that SMHI assesses as equivalent. If you have experience/education in property management, construction projects, administration, project management, public administration, or environmental law, it is meritorious.

- At least 2 years of work experience in a relevant area
- Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, and good knowledge of English in speech and writing
- Good computer skills and knowledge of Windows and the Office suite

This role requires a combination of structure, collaboration skills, and drive, as the work spans both ongoing administration and longer-term development of the observation networks. To ensure that networks, agreements, metadata, and contacts with authorities and landowners, for example, function smoothly, attention to detail, orderliness, and the ability to plan and prioritize between tasks that vary in time horizon and complexity are required. The work takes place in close dialogue with many different actors, which makes good communication skills, humility, and willingness to collaborate crucial for driving processes forward and finding sustainable solutions. At the same time, you need to be proactive and persistent to be able to take responsibility for issues that are sometimes long-term and require follow-up over time.
The role also involves contributing to development and efficiency, which requires good judgment and flexibility to adapt working methods to the needs of the business. Together, these qualities contribute to creating stable and well-functioning observation networks, which in the long run is a prerequisite for SMHI to be able to deliver reliable data and services.
