Do you have experience in qualified investigative work and want to contribute to an efficient and effective state administration? We are currently looking for several investigators for our new investigative department.

Your role and responsibilities

At Statskontoret's knowledge- and collaboration-oriented project organization, you have a daily routine with stimulating tasks and great opportunities to influence your own work situation.

Here, you are involved in the entire investigation process, from project and work planning to presentation and reporting. You alternate between being a project manager and a project team member, where you, together with engaged colleagues, investigate, analyze, make assessments, and submit sharp proposals and conclusions to the government. The aim is to contribute to the development and efficiency of the state administration. This may involve, for example, developing the government's control, leadership, and organization of agencies and operations. The assignments vary in length but often last between 4 and 12 months.

You will belong to the Department for Efficient Administration, which works with the agency's overarching task of promoting an efficient and effective state administration and good stewardship of state funds. We do this through investigations, evaluations, and follow-ups of state and state-funded operations, but also by developing and managing economic control and reporting in the state. We are also responsible for promoting a good administrative culture and work against corruption. We also develop the work with impact assessments and advise agencies and committees on these matters. An important task for the department is to provide the government with material for state review and efficiency improvements.

The department is newly formed and consists of five units that work in projects and investigations based on a matrix principle. This means that regardless of which unit you belong to, you will work together with colleagues from other units. Since the department is new, we are in a testing and developmental phase regarding working methods and processes. You will therefore have the opportunity to help shape the future of the department.

Your background and competence

We are looking for someone who has:

• An academic degree in law, economics, political science, or another relevant field.
• Several years of experience in qualified investigative and analytical work regarding control, leadership, organization, financing, or efficiency within public operations.
• Experience in project management.
• Very good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience using AI tools for text and data processing.
• Experience and knowledge of economic and operational management in the state.
• Experience conducting review analyses within public operations.
• Knowledge of legislative work.
• Experience working both at administrative agencies and the Government Offices.

You have good judgment, strong analytical skills, and can translate complex information into easy-to-understand messages. You collaborate in a listening and balanced manner, express your opinions, and are constructive in your dialogue with others. You combine structured, careful, and quality-conscious work with flexibility and reliability.
