As an employee in the admissions group, you contribute to an equal and legally secure admissions process. You will have a broad role encompassing case processing, collaboration, and development.

Welcome to us

The Education Administration in the City of Stockholm is Sweden's largest administration with approximately 16,000 employees. The administration is responsible, among other things, for the operation and development of the municipality's more than 140 primary schools and around 30 upper secondary schools.

The Upper Secondary Department works to realize the educational board's goals and visions. Within the department is Skolslussen, where we are responsible for study and career guidance, admissions, and transitions between school forms. We collaborate with the labor market administration and social services to ensure that young people receive the support they need based on their home municipality's responsibility.

The group consists of five case officers and is located in pleasant premises centrally in Stockholm. We are now looking for a new colleague who wants to become part of our team.

Your role

As an employee in the admissions group, you work to ensure an equal and legally secure handling of authority decisions. You handle cases in the admissions process to upper secondary school and adapted upper secondary school, work actively to streamline the processes, and provide citizens and partners with service and professional treatment.

The admissions process runs throughout the year, with a more intensive period from February to August, with a focus during the summer. In the role, you collaborate with, among others, Upper Secondary Admissions Greater Stockholm, other units within the administration, principals, and other partners.

Examples of tasks include supporting schools' work with admission questions, conducting investigations, working with quality review and business development, and participating in the upper secondary fair and various networks.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • A university degree in fields such as political science, law, behavioral science, special education, study and career guidance, or other relevant education.
  • Several years of experience in exercising authority within public operations in the education sector.
  • Current experience with admission issues to upper secondary school and adapted upper secondary school.
  • Experience of collaboration with municipal admission organizations and Upper Secondary Admissions Greater Stockholm.
  • Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
  • Good computer skills and good knowledge of the Office package, especially Excel.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working in the Indra2 and BER (Children and Student Register of the City of Stockholm) systems.
  • Experience working with adapted upper secondary school.
  • Experience working with upper secondary school's introductory programs.

As a person, you are careful and structured in your work and have the ability to plan and prioritize your tasks. You are self-reliant and take responsibility for driving your tasks forward, while being flexible and able to handle changed conditions when the situation requires it. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working together with others to achieve common goals.
