Occupational Therapist for Habiliteringscenter Sollentuna Children

About Us

Habiliteringscenter Sollentuna Children is a specialist outpatient clinic belonging to the Habilitation & Health unit within Region Stockholm. We provide interventions for children aged 0–17 with permanent disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, or motor impairment.

Work is conducted in interdisciplinary teams together with social workers, speech therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, and special education teachers. A total of seven occupational therapists work at our clinic. Our catchment area is in the north-west of the county, covering the municipalities of Järfälla, Solna, Sollentuna, Upplands-Väsby, Sigtuna, and Upplands-Bro. Our clinic is located in pleasant premises in central Sollentuna, close to commuter trains, buses, restaurants, and shops, approximately a 15-minute commute from the city center.

About the Position

We are now looking for an occupational therapist to join our autism team. The target group is children and young people aged 5–17 with autism and their networks. You will have an independent, varied, and highly stimulating job. The tasks consist of a broad spectrum of occupational therapy interventions. Your role involves spreading knowledge to parents and networks about support to help the patient manage daily activities. The work includes functional assessments, mappings, prescriptions, and follow-ups of assistive devices for cognitive support, as well as advice and support regarding housing adaptations or structure in daily life. Interventions can be provided both individually and in groups. Our patients often have complex needs requiring collaboration, not only within the team but also with care partners, municipal services, and other authorities. The tasks are varied and require flexibility. Work is primarily carried out at the clinic but sometimes also in the patient's immediate environment.

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist and have an interest in working with children with various disabilities and their networks. Experience from habilitation or other work with persons in our target group is meritorious. You have good ability to work independently as well as collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. You have good planning skills and are structured.

For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Council (SLSO):

• A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
• Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination according to current directives, conducted through occupational healthcare before employment.
• In addition to a Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
