As a Mechanical Designer, you will become part of AFRY's Hydro Nordics division where you, together with your colleagues, work on developing the hydropower of tomorrow. You will be part of an engaged team where collaboration, technical competence, and development are in focus.

You will be employed as a consultant by Academic Work and work on assignment for AFRY. The assignment is long-term, and for the right person, there are excellent opportunities for continued development within the company.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work with mechanical design for hydropower plants and drive projects from preliminary studies to completed design documentation. The role involves close collaboration with both customers and colleagues across several technical disciplines.

You will be responsible for:

• Performing mechanical design and 3D modeling related to hydropower plants
• Producing manufacturing documentation, technical drawings, and design documentation
• Conducting technical investigations, preliminary studies, and engineering assignments

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a post-secondary education in a relevant field
• Has several years of experience in mechanical design
• Has experience working independently with 3D modeling, drawing production, and manufacturing documentation
• Is proficient in SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar software
• Has good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as required in daily work
• Has a valid driver's license (category B)

The following is considered a merit:

• Experience with strength calculations
• Previous work within hydropower, energy, or process industry
